Emma Pérez is an American author and professor, known for her work in queer Chicana feminist studies.

Biography

Pérez was born in El Campo, Texas in October 25, 1954. In 1979, she received an undergraduate degree in political science and women's studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She obtained her master's and doctorate in history from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1982 and 1988, respectively.

Pérez was a professor at the University of Texas at El Paso (1990–2003), where she became the Chair of the History Department.^[1] In 2003, she became a professor and the chair of the department of Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder^[1] and taught in their Ph.D.
